IBM Lenovo ThinkPad X201, X220, T410 or T420 ? how can you choose between them ?

IBM Lenovo ThinkPad X201, X220, T410 or T420 ? how can you choose between them ?

i guess if you want Win 10 & webcam the problem is solved

The @DELL Windows 10 recovery media No Bootable Device error #windows10 #bios #uefi #fail

According to

if you get the error

No Bootable Device error when booting to Dell Windows 10 media

it is because all Dell Windows 10 recovery media (Win10 recovery DVD [Clean install only from DVD] or WIN10 recovery USB key) require the system BIOS to be configured in the Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) mode.

There will be no changes made to the Dell Windows 10 recovery media because, as by Microsoft design, Windows 10 is intended to be used in the UEFI mode configuration.

but that CANT be true ? i am sure i have a Lenovo Thinkpad that only has BIOS (not UEFI) that works fine with Windows 10 !

#ThinkPad T60 v #ThinkPad T61

I cant decide between a IBM Lenovo ThinkPad T60 and a IBM Lenovo ThinkPad T61 but this review is helping me a lot http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=3708&review=ThinkPad+T61.

Three things that would annoy me about the T61 are:

  • off centre screen
  • battery sticking out
  • headphone socket on front

have you just bought a bargain T60 or T61 from bentham ltd t/a morgan computers for less than £150 ? and are you new to ibm lenovo thinkpads ?

if so then you may be interested to learn that ibm lenovo thinkpad thinkvantage is not just a blue button on your keyboard

there are also some associated apps that you can download

  • thinkvantage productivity center
  • thinkvantage system update

so after you have manually installed the intel pro/wireless 3945 ABG network driver you can install the thinkvantage productivity center and use it to run thinkvantage system update which should detect and install all the other device drivers you need such as the intel pro/1000 PL network driver and loads of other thinkvantage utilities !

It’s time to throw away your Thinkpad T20

I think it's time to throw away your Thinkpad T20 because:

  • it has a max capacity of only 512M RAM
  • those 2 x 256M PC133 SODIMMs will cost you £80 (equiv to 1G / £160)
  • you can now buy a brand new notebooks with 1G of RAM for £299 on the High St from Comet, Staples or Tesco !
  • that brand new notebook will also have 80G+ disk (instead of 20G), 1.4G CPU (instead of 700MHz), built in Wi-Fi (instead of PCMCIA that sticks out) and a one year guarantee !
