how does @periscope live #video #streaming work ?

had my first experience of periscope https://www.periscope.tv/about this evening as i watched someone periscoping this evenings @skillsmatter #codenode #devops talk so decided to periscope them ! but where are the links to the videos ? can i only watch them via the app ? how long will they be kept before they are deleted ? why do hearts appear on the screen when i move my finger ?

also just had a random popup about a group periscoping from a pub in ireland !

its all completed confusing !!!

is it true that of the 15,000 amazon prime videos only 1,500 are included for free ?

is it true that of the 15,000 amazon prime videos only 1,500 are included for free ?

so shouldnt they say

unlimited streaming of 1,500 titles at no additional cost

instead of

unlimited streaming of thousands of titles at no additional cost

Orb MyCast – stream all your digital media to any internet device

Orb MyCast – stream all your digital media to any internet device

Orb leverages the best in already available technology (hi-speed broadband, Wi-Fi, wireless internet access and sophisticated portable devices) to provide a brand new way for people to connect with their digital media in the manner "how, when and where" they most desire.

Orb 2.0 is all about MyCasting – Be your own producer:
Create channels out of your music, photos, videos, and television.

Orb Networks is priming itself to be a main contender against Apple's Apple TV.

The company has just announced that their free MyCasting software now works with the Microsoft Xbox 360, the Nintendo Wii, and the Sony PS3, giving gamers the ability to bring all digital media to their TV screen without any additional costs or hardware requirements.

The free MyCasting software allows users to enjoy all digital media from their home PC, as well as online videos, on any networked device with an internet browser – be it other PCs, laptops, PDAs, mobile phones with support for streaming players, and now, next gen videogame consoles.

Most Orb users enjoy all of its features by logging to http://mycast.orb.com and interacting with the web site directly.

In addition, Orb exposes most of its services via an application programming interface (API). This means developers and power users can now use the API to add Orb functionality directly into their existing or new applications, using their favorite programming languages.

Developers are encouraged to sign up for the Orb developer program and agree to our terms of use. Get started with the Orb API today!

VideoLAN is a software project, which produces free software for video, released under the GNU General Public License. Our main product is the cross-platform VLC media player.

The VideoLAN streaming solution includes two programs:

  • VLC media player which can be used as a server and as a client to stream and receive network streams. VLC is able to stream all that it can read.
  • VLS (VideoLAN Server), which can stream MPEG-1, MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 files, DVDs, digital satellite channels, digital terrestial television channels and live videos on the network in unicast or multicast. Most of the VLS functionality can now be found VLC.
  • Usage of VLC instead of VLS is advised.
