red hat gnu/linux distros & the xfce desktop environment
according to red hat you can only install from http://www.xfce.org/download
but if you add the fedoraproject EPEL repo you can install xfce desktop onto oracle linux 7 (and red hat ?)
# wget https://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/epel-release-latest-7.noarch.rpm
# yum install epel-release-latest-7.noarch.rpm
# yum groupinstall xfce
then logout click options and choose xfce session instead of gnome and login
# yum repolist

its official ! if youve got a old low spec PC try the ubuntu alternatives like Lubuntu or Xubuntu.
NOTE: Standard Ed/X/Ubuntu releases have 9 month of maintenance and LTS releases have 3 years of support.
only just noticed that xubuntu 16.04.01 LTS was released 2 months ago maybe its time to upgrade from 14.04 LTS
